This is one of my favorite videos of all time. This is a video of young Bob Dylan defying…everything. As a very young artist, he’s in this interview with THE Time Magazine, on THE most famous t.v. station in the world, but does he care to play to the gallery, or engage in diplomacy, or bother to purchase a sachet of decorum from the nearest corner store? Nope. This is him taking control of the interview, scolding this reporter, asking questions that I’m sure every musician’s dying to ask, and in plain English, totally kicking this reporter’s butt.
This, for me, is one of those moments in music history, where a musician stays true to his black blood. Despite the very obvious consequences; the unchecked fury from his producers and directors, the quantifiable backlash, and the constant nagging in his head by a usually docile conscience, he truthfully and passionately spoke about his work and by far, gave one of the most memorable interviews ever.
Greetings from Israel. 🙂 To say I’m having the time of my life would be a cataclysmic understatement, and that’s all I’ll say.
